San Diego Ballet proudly announces its 2026–2027 season, celebrating 37 years of bringing innovative classical and contemporary dance to Southern California audiences.

In addition to returning to some of San Diego County’s premier performing arts venues, SDB will continue its popular collaboration with The San Diego Museum of Art where it hosted its entire 2025-2026 season. For this season, SDB will present three programs inspired by the Museum’s permanent collection and exhibitions throughout the season. The company will also return to stages throughout San Diego County with the large-scale productions, family favorites, Latin-inspired works and live music collaborations that have become hallmarks of San Diego Ballet.

“Collaborating with SDMA this past season was truly a joy, and we were thrilled to be included in its year-long centennial celebration,” says Javier Velasco, executive and artistic director of San Diego Ballet. “In a larger sense, it made me think. While SDMA has forged a legacy over its 100 years, so has San Diego Ballet in its 37 years—a legacy of classical and contemporary dance specifically geared to and inspired by our Southern California audiences and community.”

Velasco adds, “The 2026–2027 season will be a celebration of that legacy. From our popular Latin-inspired works and live jazz programs to our family-friendly takes on classic ballets, this season has something for anyone who has ever come to one of our performances and left with not just a greater appreciation for ballet, but a smile on their face and a spring in their step.”
