2025-2026 Season
Says Artistic Director Javier Velasco, “ We always like to have some sort of overarching theme to our season. Last year, the idea was that you were going on an actual journey from country to country. The year before, we set the season up as if it was an idealized day. starting at dawn (The Sleeping Beauty) and finishing with midnight (Giselle). This year’s season is very much like a visit to our lovely art museum in Balboa Park. A stroll from gallery to gallery.A dance performance and a gallery are not that different from each other, when it comes down to it. You have to think of what dances (art works) to program (hang) next to others, so that they compliment each other. Collaborating with SDMA on this has been a joy and we are thrilled to be included in their year- long centennial celebration.”
