The San Diego Ballet Outreach program serves City Heights with free weekly dance classes for children and adults! 
Not only do students of all ages enjoy the year round program but they can also participate in local festivals and a summer dance camp! 
Our classes provide quality dance education in a positive atmosphere where students can make friends and build connections with the community.
In 2023 the students created the Las Mariposas dance film. They inspired the story, made their costumes and danced in the gorgeous video that embraces the migration of the butterflies and encourages friendship. The story for this film came about during classroom discussions when the children were asked the question âif you were a butterfly, where would you like to fly?â This exploration of travel and discovery opened the dialogue to encompass the childrenâs experiences traveling outside of the city while bringing the group together to see what everyone had in common- a home in San Diego.
