Kirsten Thorne was born in South Africa where she began her ballet training.  After moving to the United States, she continued her training at Black Mountain Dance Centre, San Diego.   

Principal roles included Snow Queen in the Nutcracker and Fairy Queen in Cinderella, with soloist roles in Coppelia, Nutcracker, Pas de Quatre, Paquita, A Midsummer Nights Dream, and others.  She is currently a company member with San Diego Ballet under the directorship of Robin Sherertz Morgan and Javier Velasco and Ballet Mistress Ahita Bergman.  She has received Honors for her Cecchetti Advanced II examination.
