Danika's Thoughts: Music is to me, so incredibly important in dance. I remember the first time I connected with the music I was dancing to in a modern piece danced in my ballet school growing up. It was a trio for two women and one man, and the music was a sweepingly beautiful string quartet. I realized, that the music made me want to dance, and despite my shy persona as a young girl, I was forced to express more than I thought I could through my dancing. Now when I'm onstage, I have learned to let the music take me away, and dancing is so easy and free.
